What is MBX, HACK the FUN?

MBX, Hack the FUN is a hybrid hackathon and acceleration program designed to fast-track the development and launch of Web3 games on Marblex. Co-hosted by Marblex and Dracoon Ventures, the program empowers gaming startups with resources, expert mentorship, and a chance to win exciting prizes—culminating in a showcase at Token2049 Dubai.

Who can apply?

This program is designed for startups ready to launch a new Web3 game. Teams with experience in either Web3 or traditional gaming are preferred.

What types of games are eligible?

We welcome hyper-casual to mid-core Web3 games with NFTs, including mini-games to multiplayer experiences. (Hardcore games? We welcome you as well, so feel free to apply!)

Can I apply if my game is still in early development?

Yes! If your game has strong potential and a capable team, you’re encouraged to apply.

How do I apply?

Apply via the official program website(here!) before the deadline on March 9, 2025. Submit your game details and team information to be considered.

What are the prizes and benefits?

Over $1M Prize Package for the final winning games. (Up to 10 games)

Is there a chance to receive funding for my game after the program?

Yes! The prize package for winning teams includes investment options, and the program participants may receive additional funding opportunities through Dracoon Ventures, Marblex, and/or our network of VCs. Co-publishing deals and strategic investments are also available for standout projects.

What is the ticket size of the investment?

Investment amounts vary, but typically range from $100K to over $1M, depending on your game’s potential and team valuation. Further details will be shared with eligible teams during or after the program.

Does participation guarantee investment or publishing support?

No, participation does not guarantee funding. However, it provides a unique opportunity to showcase your game to investors and industry leaders. Winning teams with exceptional projects are more likely to secure funding or publishing deals.

Can I pitch my game to other investors during or after the program?

Additional fundraising is allowed with prior notice to the program hosts. However, as winning teams must initially launch their games on Marblex, they are free to seek additional funding or publishing opportunities elsewhere after fulfilling their launch terms.

How are games evaluated?

Judges assess gameplay quality, Web3 integration, and market potential. Detailed evaluation criteria will be shared during the program.

What is the duration of the program?

The program runs from Late March to Mid April 2025(4 weeks) with online workshops, mentorship, and development support. The Fun Fest in Dubai (Demo Day) happens on April 28th or 29th, 2025, and winners will be announced in early May 2025.

What does the program include?

MBX, Hack the FUN provides workshops & mentorship, hands-on guidance with technical & operational support on Marblex, industry exposure at the FUN Fest(Demo day) and post-program acceleration for winning teams.

What are the key program milestones?

Participation in online sessions of choice
Submission of a playable demo & pitch for Demo Day
Game integration with Marblex
Final game build submission & launch on Marblex for winning teams in Q2, 2025*

*Launch date TBD upon mutual agreement

Do I need to attend in person?

No, the program is primarily online. However, Demo Day at Token2049 Dubai (April 28th or 29th, 2025) will be a hybrid event, allowing both in-person and virtual participation.

What if I can’t attend Demo Day in person?

You can present your game virtually. However, for better networking, audience engagement, and partnership opportunities, we strongly encourage attending in person.

Do I need to integrate my game with Marblex?

Yes, all the winning games must be integrated with MARBLEX & launch after the program.

Can I launch my game on other platforms?

Winning games must launch first on MARBLEX. After the initial period, teams can expand to other platforms.

Can I keep developing my game after the program?

Absolutely! MBX, Hack the FUN is just the beginning. Winning teams will receive post-program acceleration and publishing opportunities to take their games to the next level.

Even if you don't make it into the top 10, we're still here to support your continued development on MARBLEX with technical and operational assistance, if you wish.

Will I retain ownership of my game?

Yes, you retain full ownership. Prizes, funding, and co-publishing deals are structured to support your success while maintaining creative control.
